Glacier National Park - last day!

Tuesday was another full day in the park. We headed out early and made it to the continental divide by 8:45 am (local time - 10:45 at home, it was harder than you think).

We had a difficult time deciding which hike to take and instead did two.  The first hike was the Hidden Lake Overlook hike.  It was an easy hike and we saw a lot of wildlife.

We saw marmots, pica, mountain goats and big horn sheep on this hike.

Marmot...

Seriously? Snow on July 23rd?  Awesome!

Very slippery!

We made it to the Hidden Lake!!!

But, we weren't allowed to go all the way due to grizzly bears...

Our second hike of the day was even scarier than grizzly bears (according to Shelly).  It was the Highline Trail and it was high up! This trail must be seen to be believed.  It hugs the side of a mountain for the first half mile or so and has unbelievable views!

Shelly was not entirely sure that she was ready for this hike!

Notice to the wire that is anchored to the wall for safety!

The views were simply ridiculous! The mountain on the upper left is the location of our 1st hike of the day.
We all made it back to the car alive! Shelly was quite relieved!

Do you see the mountain goat walking behind?  Malcolm is blissfully unaware!

Do you see the cars on the Going to the Sun highway below?

King of the mountain!

The way back to the car...
This was our last day in the park so we stopped at several stops on the way out.

Walking in Lake McDonald, brrr!

Emma and Malcolm brave the cold and go under water!
Glacier National Park was awesome! (consensus of the group)...
