Los Padres National Forest

We have lost track of the number of National Forests we have traveled through but the Los Padres is certainly the most unique. The first 10 miles of our trip on the coast found a large amount of barbed wire fencing blocking any access to the coast line. The beaches were pristine and the hillsides clear of houses (the cattle had the best view of anybody) which was probably the whole point. We did find some cool places to stop though.

At one point Shelly said "Oh my god, look at that thing blubbering up on the shoreline! Did you see that?" Well in the end a large number of people saw the Elephant Seals. Very ugly animal but very interesting to look at.
