Out of the Frying Pan and into the Mojave

The desert is really "cool". Yikes. The sign said to turn off the AC to prevent overheating. No irony there...

    117 -- makes our 90s look cool.

    Just got caught up on your travels... how many times did you jump into the ocean with your clothes on! Hope the hotels had dryers in addition to wifi. Tell Jacob SW book 2 is history, I'll go to the library and get book 3 in the morning (or rather later in the morning -- just turned midnight here.
    I'll look again tonight for highlights.
