The "Cheap" Afternoon...

Here was the idea:
  • After all the spending... today was going to be a nice, easy, cheap day...
  • Santa Monica Pier (w/ $1 to park) in the morning...
  • an afternoon of visiting several museums

As we approached the museum we saw a massive line of people standing in the 97 degree heat. They were waiting to get into a screening of a new IMAX movie about Mummies. Why? Because the museum just opened a new exhibit (which was really cool but pricey). Check out their website because they did not allow photography or videotaping.

The rest of the museum was inundated with summer camp elementary age students but was pretty cool. The kids loved the "kelp" area.

Also in the Exposition Complex was the Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History which is based on the NYC Natural History Museum (which the kids loved).

Our first look at the Hollywood sign. We travelled along Mulholland Drive to look at cool houses we might buy before we leave on Saturday. Will take a look at the rest of Beverly Hills tomorrow after we hit the Aquarium of the Pacific.

Yes, I am finally up to date...
